I have no idea...sorry about that.

Yes, of course. It's a budget phone. A couple of hundred dollars I think, but it shows that two lens DOF simulation is possible with both video and stills. Hopefully, Apple's implementation will be somewhat more refined. What would be really exciting is if all of the pre-process information was transferable to FCPX for creating rack-focus effects in post.

Apple's implementation better be better than that,
'cause that "DSLR Bokeh" just looks like straight up gaussian blur to me.

Yeah, not to crazy about the iPhone 7 myself. Unfortunately, Jobs had set up the expectation to "wow" consumers at least every now and then. It seems that they aren't managing to do this recently. I myself expected more from the iPhone 7. Its weird how I'm already thinking maybe they'll do something game changing on the 8.

Additionally, there are a lot of Asian technology phones that surpass the iPhone, although in Android. So if your stuck in the Apple ecosystem then you just live with the updates, which all in all aren't to bad, just not "game-changing".

The crazy thing is, is that I'm already thinking about ordering a 7, and to be honest the new waterproof watch....that measures laps, etc...that is cool.......

seems like a small niche in the market though...interesting....

Personally I think the iPhone 7 Plus is pretty awesome. Already ordered mine and can't wait to start capturing some great 4K footage on it.

damian..... It is awesome.... its just doesn't have that game-changing factor...... after the big change from cell phones to iPhone, then from the 3 to the 4, I thought the 6 to the 7 would have meant something more....

I mean they still have the protruding camera....you'd expect more from Apple, not compromise....

Given how they destroyed the macbook pro, taking away the option to upgrade RAM, hard drives, this new phone is just another example of sloppy we don't care attitude of Apple.

Jony is not a great designer, this is a basic phone, with a few shiny toys, that is basically just a phone, nothing fancy about it, 2 cameras, so what? No slots for extra SD cards, insanely stupid amount of storage, this is just a crappy phone...not worth what is charged for it..

i have to disagree justine..... if you want apple....then you accept it for what it is.... otherwise go back to pc.

the best thing to do - is shell out the cash initially, max it out - and you'll never have a problem....

(its like buying a mercedes with a 100cc engine in it, and then you want to take it to the mechanic and fit in a huge engine....things will never be right)

...but again just my humble opinion - i respect yours!

It is just lazy design to abuse solder like Jony does with the macbook range, it should be able to be upgraded post purchase, things break, RAM does south, why not just have 2 types, one with fixed glued in RAM, oh that is called the AIR, and the other, PRO, which may be upgraded by 3rd party shops or qualified internal staff at say a big broadcaster????

That is just my point, it is laziness by Apple to not have 2 types, I would in a heart beat buy a 17inch macbook pro that allowed me to upgrade as an when I need to, that was the best part of the silver key macbook pro, I could change RAM as and when I needed, I replaced the broken dvd with a 2nd HDD, easy, now this new range....

Not everyone can afford to max out at purchase..

Karsten, when do you think the new version of FCPX will be released, now that the keynote said nothing about FCPX?

Actually it is not a lazy design, it is much easer to build a device with compartments. But you will not get the slim design that everybody wants.
Also there has been insider poles where they have compared how often a users actually upgrade or extended there devices in the Apple ecosystem. Not very often especially in Professional area. Usually if it is time to upgrade you mind as well get a new device. (Harddrive is different story)
The problem today is, devices are not coming as fast as they did. But with announcements of slow live cycles, it seems the technology speed bumps are not worth the money.
This is maybe we see much more activity in the service and experience level. ;)

 Seeing as I am blocked by Tim on twitter, that would rule me out as an employee...I have never held a full time job, never actually been employed per se...been freelancing for well a very long time...And I hope this never changes...

I love or rather did at one point love Apple Inc, now, well not so much, I just call things as I see them, and what has happened over the last 15 years is a shame, a great brand destroyed, products weaker and less practical, more expensive and more frustrating.

I love industrial design, and I see things this way, industrial means to me, robust, user serviceable, if not then by in-house staff, or 3rd party shops, not by the manufacturer. Take power tools, you can buy domestic brands, and industrial brands, the industrial have features not found on lower grade domestic brands, and often use special parts, that can be abused to a greater degree than you can the domestic tools.

The same was true of the macbook, the cheap plastic one, cheap and not so sturdy, the pro was way more powerful, it came in a 17inch, you could change out parts, even I with zero training, was able to self service my macbook pro.. Now I have a hunk of junk, underpowered and useless for anything other than imovie edits, 8GB RAM is way not enough, and the cost to buy more RAM was prohibitive here at the arse end of Africa!!!

Anyway I think I provide at times controversy, and that is a great thing, life is too short, if you don't like what I write, just ignore me...Anyway I love debating, the more robust, the better, time someone spoke up...

As I have said many times, I am that kid that asked a great question and the townfolk hated him for it...The questions was honest, and not the kid's fault the townfolk are idiots!!!
