As it is, the mouse is needed *way* too much for working with clips on the timeline, and why, oh why, can I only get a 2-up view when using the trim tool with the mouse, and not keyboard
Agree on the 2-up issue... and it would be nice to have more UI customisation options across the board...

And and please please please, make the app fill the screen, not leave a pixel width all around, very annoying...and can we please please have the ability to save UI set ups...The only thing I miss from classic is the ability to define and recall UI setups!!!!!

What are the odds that we will get cutting edge Z-depth/lightfield technology incorporated into FCPXI / FCPX before we get half decent audio mixing?

If there’s a maintenance version of Final Cut Pro X out today don’t be disappointed. I’m sure #fcpx 10.3 will be a big update!

"On a different note, I've had a lot of folks asking why I'm writing so much about Adobe and so little about Final Cut Pro X. I still love Final Cut, but Apple hasn't updated it in a while because they are working on something big. So, the short answer is that I've run out of stuff to talk about. I've covered virtually every feature in the software either in an article, a webinar or part of my FCP X Complete training."
"...they are working on something big..." being the exciting inference. He's been a reliable prognosticator in the past, and along with the awesome folks at Ripple seems to launch new training almost simultaneously with new versions of FCPX.
Maybe this stretch of sustained quietude from Apple in regards to FCPX is an exciting thing. Something's a coming. I'd buckle up in the coming weeks. It's a testament to FCPX that it engenders such loyalty and thrill to its users in a way that we wait with bated breath.

Well, that was as bewilderingly specific as it was inaccurate.

At least recent patents awarded to Apple hint that Final Cut has not gone into maintenance mode. I've written up an Apple patent covering audio on my public Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Alex4D/

No problem, and thank you for clarifying this.
To everyone who loves to speculate:
You don't have to be under any NDA, nor do you need to be a clairvoyant, to know that there will be some exciting news coming in the next few months. All the signs are here, you just need to read them. Now let the speculation continue :woohoo:

Don't want to bust your bubble, but there are many Patents for FCP years back that haven't made it today.
Real fact is nobody except for a few know.

*Perhaps some features require Sierra, but since it was shown off at NAB prior to WWDC where Sierra was released, it makes sense that it can still run on El Capitan.

Markers.. Yes yes I know, markers are there, and well there is a huge thing no one has mentioned, and well it is this...
Why do markers have to be attached to anything? Why not have them be fixed in time according to the master timecode, so that they become an anchor on which you connect clips to, instead of connecting to actual video media, the marker is not attached to any video, it is it self a sort of island that is fixed according to the timecode when you set the marker.
This way, if you move, delete, trim, the video/audio it does not move, and any connected clips remain attached to the marker.
Having fixed markers, and yes they have to be colored, solves so many minor frustrations I have...ideas???

This is associated to the "blank text layer" usage that has been so useful for many thus far....
