As an Apple user since the 80s I think I qualify as being familiar with Apple by now!

Well, as far as tax deductions, as long as you place your order and they charge your credit card, it doesn't really matter when you actually take delivery of the Mac Pro (or FCPX 10.1)...correct? Who would be the wiser when the item arrived on your doorstep?
Kind of wonder why they don't just flip the "ORDER" switch and put the delivery ETA as far out as they want, within reason...that way they technically hit their very vague "Available in December" deadline and also put out the fire thats building from the "Refresh...refresh...refresh...." crowd.

As per a conversation with my accountant yesterday, technically it's based on "when the equipment goes into service"
I think you're more or less safe as you say, but if you think you might get audited, don't do it.

It's not today
Unfortunately, you're right. Still could be any day this week though.

Unfortunately, we're posting faster than they can read. WE ALL HAVE TO SHUT UP OR WE'LL NEVER GET 10.1!

Then those people who keep saying "I would gladly pay…" must stop!
