It's just after midnight here in southern California, I think the store will go down soon and in a few hours we'll see a new Mac Pro and FCPX 10.1 appear.

Problem? Please I can quit anytime!!! I haven't looked at the thread or my email or refreshed the forum in 6.3 minutes even though I have to go to work in a few hours. Problems...

Long time ago when I was beta testing QT one of the moderators went out for holidays and switched to an "Auto reply all" including herself.
Next morning (using Netscape that time) it took forever to load my mails. I got a call from my provider that they will block all emails from Apple – I got a quarter million mails that day/night which really filled my boot drive. We calculated that if she will be out for holidays one week the whole internet would have had a breakdown (that time).
So probably everybody on that list contacted Apple Cupertino to fix that auto reply – all lost a lot of emails. Don't know what happened to her.
Anyway, this is a funny thread. Why not keeping it up and running.

They definitely said "Fall 2013" for the MacPro. That gives them until the 22nd of December.
From memory they said there would be a new version of FCP X but I can't remember if they said it would be released simultaneously with the computer.
Anyway it's already Wednesday here in the future and nothing to report.

Activating the Mac Pro in the Apple Store doesn't mean it is ready to ship.

The FCPX retina update hit day and date with the Retina MBP. I expect that within 24hrs of the Mac Pro being available the update for FCPX and Aperture will drop.

I had to use transcode media just to get it to play, on a brand new rMBP with 4g RAM, I have tried with QT video and it struggles with basic ipad mini video or screen recording from within the builtin Quicktime.

That doesn't sound right... I have worked with the media the with older MacBooks with no issue..
