Completely agree with respect to FCPX and mostly agree (in theory at least) with the MP. As a practical matter, I'm not entirely sure whose attention they intend to get with the MP launch. I was pretty surprised (even startled) to go into movie theaters and see Mac Pro advertisements. Maybe it was all about the halo effect; but maybe it's a broader target audience than I would ever have guessed.

IF that's the case, I guess the one consolation is that 10.1.1 would be that much further into development.
Not to get ahead of ourselves, but it would be nice to see another feature update before NAB.
I'm still hoping, for at least 2 more hours.

Given that it's still only 8:34am in Cupertino I think we still have lots of time today.

There's nothing like releasing a 10.1 a day before a week long holiday for some and having a major issue and their support staff is a skeleton crew. If it's ready it should be out the door NOW before the MacPro and before their staff disappears for a week. At this point I'd have to say that personally, the timing for 10.1 is really bad especially if it's ready to go but they're waiting for MacPros next week.

...or perhaps I've just been wrestling with this sequence in 10.0.9 for too long.
(I also bet it has a 'real time Neat Video rendering' feature, along with 'trimming a rendered clip by a few frames doesn't invalidate the entire render file' and a 'put the clip back in that the client demanded I remove, then insisted I put back, only now I've gone and lost the bloody thing' key command.)

Partially agree, I say give it until around 1pm Pacific (4pm EST) since that was around the same time as the Mavericks 10.9.1 update yesterday. Then if still nothing, then maybe the 31st...

I'd agree. Releasing next week before Apple staff is skeleton makes little logistical sense. Of course "Fall" will be "Winter" at that point.

While we can't say for certain- it would seem obvious that Apple wouldn't prefer to launch this late into December. If there is a delay, it's something (hardware or software) that's causing it, and a firm date would be problematic at this point.
There must be a reason you torment us so.
Will it be soon.
should we....
Think different

+1 on that!
