I've been really busy lately, but still following this thread. just got a chance to look at the screenshot. The share icon is still there, now just an arrow rather than the arrow over the film reel. Could this mean that sharing features have been updated, share projects, and who knows what else.
It'a hard to tell about the switch icon at the bottom right, it could still be a switch icon, but if it is it's definitely changed.
My opinion is that we are looking at a screen shot from something we don't have yet, ad probably incomplete compared to what we will see soon.

So now it's almost upon us, what's our final speculation in terms of release date and key features?
I've been following the whole time, but just intrigued to see where we're all at now.
I'm thinking it's gotta be Tuesday (as much as I'd love it to be tomorrow/Monday).
And feature wise, there's a whole lot of interesting stuff in Alex4D's findings, but I'd say that a new workflow/organisational approach would be welcome. Not sure if it's likely, but I'd LOVE to be able to pick my project location separately for each project/client. I cut with X at home, and 7 at work. And the one thing I still prefer tenfold in 7 is the file system. Before we start editing a project, we create a folder with the client's job code, inside which we create a bunch of sub folders for our content/files/docs etc. So for an imaginary company called SmithCo:
SMC001 - SmithCo (Main folder)
(Sub folders)
SMC001 - Audio Files
SMC001 - Documents
SMC001 - Exports
SMC001 - Graphics
SMC001 - Motion
SMC001 - Nuke
SMC001 - Project Files
SMC001 - Video Files
It helps us keep things organised. So if we have to pick up where someone else left off, we can easily find our way around their projects. This isn't quite so easy with X obviously, which is a big barrier for our place at present. We'd still have to create our main folder structure for Nuke, Motion/AE, Documents etc. and then have a separate folder system within movies for FCPX. It's never made sense for our workflow, hence why we still cut in 7. But I'd LOVE this to change in 10.1, and for us to have the ability to create projects where we want. And change this location on a 'per project' basis.
Anyway, that's me. Who's up next?

You can use that folder structure easily in X. Just choose not to copy the files into the event which will create aliases to the files. Also, import folders as keyword collections and you're all set.

Based on the Thunderbolt-to-Mac Pro screenshot, I'm thinking the light-switch icon has changed to the filmstrip icon like in the new iMovie. (See this thread:
www.fcp.co/forum/4-final-cut-pro-x-fcpx/...final-cut-pro-x-10-1
)
Also, perhaps there's no need for a project library any more if Final Cut Pro X moves to iMovie's method of using libraries, where projects are just an object in an Event? Everything could then be shown in the Event Browser.(and maybe the name of that changes too? Library Browser?)

@bascome
The icon you point out in iMovie is definitely the new icon I see in the lower right of the MacPro shot (it's also visible in the lower-right of the Event Viewer), good call. But it doesn't seem to be replacing the light-switch entirely, since there's a switch icon in the upper-right above the viewer.

I'm not sure why FCPX should be concerned with Avid anything, but better project collaboration is actually one of the biggest feature requests people have been asking for.

They shouldn't be. Not one bit. Avid will be dead or run under another company before you can say "11". And gee, missing out on being integrated with a full, what, 0.65% of the market?? Wow... Apple's sure to be **really** worried!

So, still no clues about any support of the F65's RAW.
Well, it's just a XAVC/XDCAM plug-in, there's still hope for SR Memory one...

Can I through a spanner in the works and point out that the App Store shutdown is from the 21st to the 27th of December. The Tuesday the 31st is the last day of December.
Not that I specifically think it will be then.

Lol, no. I mean I hope they release it tomorrow....(hence no more suspense). Tuesday can't come fast enough.

two good reasons for 17.Dec:
• my birthday
• got today a new job-offer…
So, if it DOES happen then - my fault! :silly:
btw: 6.5h to Tuesday… here.

Decades ago when I was working for Pixar they announced an update for some software in July. August, September, October – nothing happened.
Finally in November the new version came. Pixar said that they only have two months in the year: January and July. So release date was July 95th that year.
Was a joke from Pixar.

I don't think so with the App Store shutdown from the 21st to the 27th of December. Might be difficult to get FCPX 10.1 during that time.

I'm attempting to trick my mind that it won't be released until NAB 2014. That way if it comes sooner I can be pleasantly surprised.
So far it is not working.
