A nice lil 65" 4K TV should do just fine... can have lots of things open all over the place and great to watch a movie on as well.

When G5 first came out Apple was still selling the clear plastic framed Cinema Display for a while before the aluminum CD came out.

Yeah, I still have both the G5 (somewhere) and the horrid plastic 23" screen in the cupboard. Not worth anything to sell and it's colour and sharpness are trashed now :(

Lets go all conspiracy theory. What if Tim Cook was negotiating with Obama in relation to bringing vast amounts of money in (as Apple, among others, have argued they want to years) from their different companies to the U.S.A?

A wee demo of war they can do with end end year TAX manipulation without harming their iPhone/iPad sales in the process.

I hope that's true just for the potential of a price drop on the current 27" TB display.

There are many display options that use the same ips lg panel in the acd for far less. No thunderbolt, but you get six ports on the new Mac Pro. I'm happy with the pair I have from monoprice. At $450 a piece they will tide me over. If apple releases a "retina" display I will want one.

I have the 27" monoprice glass panel displays. Just checked and they are back ordered till end of January. The cheaper non glass version for $390 is available but it's not worth the savings. The stand wobbles and there is no dead pixel guarantee. The glass version already has a Mac Pro black motif to it.

Looks like Tim Cook tweeted the Mac Pro would be released tomorrow. Does that mean FCPX update tomorrow as well?

Somewhere it is. But those people are living in a horrible dystopian future where there's no MacPro and FCPX updates.

When they come back into phase with the REAL tomorrow, then they'll truly see the future!

It's lunchtime on Thursday here in the future where we use amazing things that Americans haven't even discovered yet like:

The metric system.

Abolition of redundant money like pennies and $1 notes

Proper health care (though USA getting closer now)

and of course a date format that actually makes sense. DD/MM/YYYY!

:woohoo:

But still no MacPro or FCP X.

I bet in one of the parallel universes the new MP is out and preloaded with FCPX 10.1....those lucky Parallelians (hope this is politically correct ...if they even worry about it there)!

Mine is already ordered, paid as soon as banks open...

When it ships? "Early January, we hope."
