Whilst this is nothing new I'm itself, it's intriguing that the call came through today. I registered our studio's interest about the Mac Pro when it was announced at WWDC, and they said they'd be in touch when it's released, to arrange a day for a couple of our editors to go in store for a 'private session' and put the machine through it's paces.
I've called back, and the rep who rang is busy, so he'll call back later today apparently. I'll keep you posted...
If you can get a hold of them, see if they can do any configuration pricing like my rep did a few weeks back. It would be nice to have some confirmation on the figures I was given.

It's absolutely going to have to be tied to Roles in some regard, as that's the defacto organizational element for A/V in the timeline (replacing the legacy function of tracks).
There doesn't seem to be much indication that we'll see any big leaps in timeline organization for this release. And without that visual structure, I'm frankly stumped as to how mixing is going to make sense.
any interesting code search results for words like "curves", "colour wheels", etc?

I guess I was hoping for a curves editor as it relates to Colour correction.

Just got a Tweet Deck update.
Ahh, I see, they're updating their apps for improved iPhoto and new Tweet Deck integration in FCPX.

My old iMixx VideoCube storage modules were $2500 for "1 hour" of storage. They consisted of 2X 4 GB drives in RAID 0 config for video and a separate 500 MB (yes that's MB) for audio storage. Of course that was 20 years ago...

We were always having to do the old offline edit/online re-digitize to save space.
DV and HDV really did open things up, since as I remember HDs in any serious capacity were still crazy expensive.
I believe the first Lacie drives we bough were only 40GB, but that held a lot of SD DV material.
And here I am holding a USB stick with 30GB on it. Crazy.

What I find interesting is this from Promise though at $699.

No disks. Probably a bit pricey for JBOD but I'd been wondering when somebody would come out an enclosure that can add your own multiple disks.
Other than this there's the WD MyDisk Duo which does come with disks but they're user replaceable and JBOD.

Little to no rumblings about Mavericks.
Little to no rumblings about FCPX.
Minor rumblings about the Mac Pro.
Pegasus2 added to the Apple Store yesterday.

I would have thought that Apple are concentrating on shipping as much consumer product prior to Christmas as possible. I just picked up an iPhone 5S on 10 months 0% through the Apple store
