I had considered that option as the front page is for Nelson right now. OTOH, his funeral wasn't today, that was a memorial service. The funeral is on the 15th.

So if they release it tomorrow. Just remember who told you.

Thus the release is on the 16th!!! But seriously, don't they normally seed a GM of the OS update? Or is that just feature releases.

I think I've done my last "refresh" for today. It's 2 hours into wednesday here in Europe (main land) and no sign of a Mac Pro yet. Are we positive they mean december 2013 when the site states: "Coming in December"? There is no mention of a year

Initially they said "Fall 2013" so that gives them until Dec 22nd.

With the second half of December devoted to XMAS, it's looking more like a severely constrained launch between now and 20DEC13 but who knows. I reckon the fact Apple "clarified" the earlier Fall 2013 with the more open (year wise) Coming In December followed last weekend by MacMall's Arriving Next Month tagline all seem to suggest a delay. Especially if a Maverick's update is imminent. Then again, wasn't there somewhere on here a video of their manufacturing these things for awhile now?

Since the MacPro assembly video was shown in late October, I think it's fair to assume the US facility has been stamping out MacPro chassis since at least September.
But of course that's only part of the process. Apple could have been waiting on volume of any of the key internal components, not wanting constrains at launch. Or perhaps the bugs that needed to be squashed in OSX 9.0.X pushed back the release of 9.1, presuming that there is something critical in it for the MacPro.
We'll never really know if there was a "delay" or what the causes were.
I'm willing to wager this time next week we'll all be much happier.

It will launch...
Friday, Dec. 13th 2013
This I know for a certainty.
With all the other stuff happening rapidly together.
Why because... i'm not going to say.

For what it's worth, I just missed a call from Apple's 'business team', from a rep wanting to speak to me about the "new Mac Pro, as it's out this month...". Whilst this is nothing new I'm itself, it's intriguing that the call came through today. I registered our studio's interest about the Mac Pro when it was announced at WWDC, and they said they'd be in touch when it's released, to arrange a day for a couple of our editors to go in store for a 'private session' and put the machine through it's paces.
I've called back, and the rep who rang is busy, so he'll call back later today apparently. I'll keep you posted...

Haha, no. Quite the opposite by the sounds. Unsurprisingly the rep had nothing concrete. But he did say with unwavering confidence that the Mac Pro is coming this month. He also mentioned that he'd heard a lot of talk about 16th, but that it was purely speculation. He continuously referred to it as 'next week' though.
We'll see. I'm on the top of the call list apparently too, which he told me is "unimaginably long". Lol. We'll see...

Yeah that sucks... we would have be in for a few new Mac Pro's but they would have to hit before the 16th which I think is not going to happen.

ok, well that would be a relieve as i'm about to throw my sluggish iMac out the window out of pure frustration
I do hope the rep is wrong and that it'll be this week but I guess next week is more likely. After such a long time another week of waiting isn't gonna hurt I guess...?

A hint for those awaiting audio mixing developments.
The word “mixer” appears 83 times in the main code part of 10.0.9 and 101 times in the Final Cut Pro X part of iMovie 10.
“MultiplyMixer” doesn’t appear in 10.0.9. It is used 16 times in the FCP X part of iMovie 10. It looks like an Apple Audio Unit:
