As much as I fell in love with the glossy-ness of my tracks and buttons, I think the flatter/matte finish to the UI will be a welcomed change. Definitely cleaner and sharp. I approve.

When Maveicks, and the iLife/iWork stuff starts poping up on the MacAppStore- then we'll see whether FCPX is one of the "over 20" apps being updated today.

The Apple site does say "December" for a new version of Final Cut Pro X. Bummer.

I think they mean 20 Apps in general not from Apple itself. We won't see anything besides we really do not know what is coming so not to of a big deal.

I don't think anyone was expecting any FCPX update today. If it's December that's good enough for me.

Gha! I guess that seals it. Can't say I'm not disappointed, especially since December I'll be finishing up a big job and there's no way I'll be able to do a machine/software switch.

BTW. Did you catch what Phil said about the HDMI port? He said it was for broadcast monitoring. So sounds like broadcast monitoring will be build into the Pro.
Also, $2999 for the lowest end MacPro sounds pretty good, somewhat comparable to the highest end iMac. I can imagine that the high end model will be easy double that.

True but the specs are not that impressive if you compare them to presentation.tpayton wrote: BTW. Did you catch what Phil said about the HDMI port? He said it was for broadcast monitoring. So sounds like broadcast monitoring will be build into the Pro.

Well- if you max out a current MacPro (not including internal HDs) you start to get up there...

Last year we replaced four of our older MPs with maxed-out new ones and we were well over 10,000/piece. This machine offers much more performance for its price. We will start with one or two and see where we go from there.
