I don't see the purpose of moving FCP X to another drive and then running FCS Remover. We're assuming FCP X is corrupt, and want to reinstall it fresh, not keep a questionable copy. The Mac App Store will let you download it as many times as you want on the same machine for free.

If reinstalling once does not help, reinstalling again won't help.

Try this, hit Cmd+2, then Cmd+E, what happens?

No. I have a feeling I won't get anywhere with them. I'm better off sticking with this forum. It's more personal.

If you don't contact Apple, you'll never know for a fact if they have a fix or not. Also, in the Final Cut Pro menu is a Feedback link. Use it, tell Apple what's going on, what you like, don't like, they actually do read these, log them, and it does influence future development.

When your Final Cut apps are running fine with no problems, it'll make a backup copy of their preference files. When an app acts up, it'll safely and "properly" remove all of the needed files to wipe the preferences out, so that the app creates fresh ones the next time it's launched. Corrupt preference files are a source of problems on occasion. Preference Manager is faster and easier than doing it manually, and a lot of bad information is floating around the Internet concerning exactly what files are needed to be trashed for these apps, so it makes sure it's done correctly.

Digital Rebellion makes a whole slew of utility apps for Final Cut users.

Download the free Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion, it'll do it ifor you, as I just explained. You don't have to know where your preference files are. FCP X uses different files than legacy FCP versions did. Never mess with them manually, always use Preference Manager. Hell, it's FREE, dude!

Hi!

i've figured out the problem.
I've just replaced the CompressorKit.bundle file in /Applications/Final Cut Pro.app/Contents/PlugIns/CompressorKit.bundle, with the one i've taken in Motion (/Applications/Motion.app/Contents/PlugIns/CompressorKit.bundle). Now i can export my project in quicktime, and dvd, etc...

Hope this helps

Cheers

Preference Manager will be the last thing I try. If it doesn't work, then I'm going to FCP7.

Yep, that's super strange. If you use Digital Rebellion's "Final Cut Remover" to uninstall FCP X, reboot, reinstall it from the App Store fresh, and still have that problem, that's just weird. Haven't seen that with any other FCP X systems, but, I know other really odd bugs that other FCP X systems have that no one else has. Hoping we see bug fixes released really, really soon.
