I'm sure direct export of legal multichannel MXF will come to FCP X. The programmer who gets payed by Apple to implement this functionality is the same guy who created the AS-11 DPP suite for Hamburg Pro Media, and this plugin suite allowed direct export from FCP X. It's just a matter of time.
If you have any further questions regarding the implementation of FCP X in broadcast workflows, feel free to ask. I travel around Europe helping companies set up seamless workflows around FCP X, and I regularly come to Paris (I have lived two years in Montparnasse, working for Antenne 2 and FR3). You can also e-mail me directly at ronnycourtens(at)mac(dot)com

Good to know Ronny !!!!
Nice to learn about your "previous life" in Paris, that's excellent.
I'm an optimist when considering the evolution of FCPX.
So much has been done in such a short time, even if between updates, time seems to last an eternity.
Encore merci !
alex

Roadsy....
That's very good news indeed. Glad I was able to fumble and still help, even if it was already on your battle-weary brain.
LOL.
It's certainly sounding exciting for the future or broadcast and MXF. I still have a bit of a check list concerning FCPX improvements, but don't we all?!!
As you say Ronny, it's just a matter of time.

slightly off-topic…
Fascinating: the same 'cutter' I'm using to stitch my hobby-projects together has things under the hood, we average John&Jane Does don't even sense they exist (nor 'we' need) ...
What a real split for a software designer: keeping things that simple but that complex at the same time! Awesome!
