10.0.6 Quirks etc...
I'm assuming this may be due to the fact that these events/projects were made w/ 10.0.5 and now FCPX 10.0.6 is having some sort of conflict/glitch.
I really need to move these finished projects/events to another drive so what is the best approach to copying everything to a new location? Just a copy/paste in the finder?

Are you on the latest version of your OS? That is required for 10.0.6. Anyone upgrading to 10.0.6 not on ML, well, I don't get it.
I'm trying to duplicate all these issues here, but I can't. What's the common thread to those having such major issues? What can we decipher it down to?

Any clips I needed to alter I blew away, and then re-imported them from the C300 camera files. Once I did that they automatically relinked in the project timeline, and now I was able to get access to the Chanel Config panel. Minor annoyance. I'll need to blow away all the original clips and reimport them before I archive the job.
Other than that I've had no issues per se, other than how much faster I've been getting these videos out the door today!

Here is a link that shows exactly what happens to me everytime when I try and Duplicate Projects/Events.
Worked flawlessly before and I’ve duped hundreds of projects/events now.

I’m on the latest version of Snow Leopard, I believe it was Larry Jordan or Phillip Hodgetts that stated they keep work machines at least 2 OS’s behind. I’ve adopted that mentality over the years but there does come a time to move on and update, I’m thinking that time is now for me.
However if Apple states it should work without limitation on given OS then doggone it it should work…
As for comparing clips, it's super easy and obvious. Sorry if that insults anyone, but really. Select a clip in the Browser, "Open In Timeline". Select a different clip in the Browser. Poof, you are comparing two Browser clips side by side with dual viewers. What's the issue?
I don’t think your following his original description of the issue.
Lets say you need to color-grade a couple of clips in the timeline, if you want to match the look/grade of clip A with clip B how would you go about loading them both up in the separate viewers for visual reference as you could in FCP7??
Am I edgy today? Yes. NEVER update mid-project, ever. I know 5 seasoned pros who tole me they were going to do it for 10.0.6. I said "Damned the torpedoes, take a chance!" But these were seasoned pros, not newbs. Now there are issues and complaints.
Actually your exact words to me were “Go for it you’ll be fine” when I told you I was going to commit the ultimate sin of updating mid-project(s)
But yea I get what your saying about not updating mid projects but why slam people for pointing out the issues. My hats off to the early adapters who can discover these bugs early on and give feedback so hopefully Apple can resolve these issues sooner than later.
I love the update, for me it was worth the few issues I’ve been having updating projects to use these new features and my hats off to the Apple engineers for developing FCPX so rapidly but I’m not going to act like everything is all rainbows and unicorns, there are issues that need to be resolved.

The first thing I would try is to not duplicate the render files. You can always re-render and I have found deleting render files often clears up problems both in X and 7.

just feel as though there are too many quirks in 10.0.6

when you import from a camera you create in & out points. you can also switch between list and filmstrip view. however, if you import from your hd you cannot select any in & outpoints and you can only view in list view.
doesn't make much sense to me.

Yes, we are aware of that issue, which is the main problem of this new version 10.0.6. There seems to "be a new bug in 10.0.6. We are working to find a workaround (because it will again take quite some time to fix FCPX itself).

General note: if you are in the middle of a project, do not update FCPX to 10.0.6 yet.

Can't be one step back if it never worked.
