Apple is not going to add that to FCPX, but if you need to, you can export your sequences to FCPX from FCP7 with Intelligent Assistance 7toX. It's cheap (9,99 bucks) and works very well.

What I was wondering about xto7: do you still need to have FCP Legacy versions installed or can you open the results directly in Premiere?

As long as you have a FCP 7 xml you can open it in Premiere. I've done this many times to transfer projects from FCP X to Premiere when needed.

Not exactly.
You still need FCP7 to EXPORT XML from one sequence, but you don't need it to open the XML file in another NLE

Hi Doug,
FCPX is a different beast to the initial release. If you want to get 7 into x, theres a good app called 7toX that does that with XML.

I freaking LOVE FCPX!
It might be the most brilliant application ever, all categories. Using "classic" FCP now feels like going back to the 90s...
I was hoping they would do a similar total make over of Logic, but sadly it was just a few baby steps in the right direction. Maybe because of all the narrowminded "it's not working like in FCP7, it's crap" whiners complaining about FCPX so the decided to take it slow with Logic

LPX, I'd have to say, is a HUGE step forward, not baby steps.

And I wish they had come up with a super easy to use tie-in with FCPX, that didn't need exporting etc etc...

I wish they had changed it more. It still feels like LogicBenB wrote: LPX, I'd have to say, is a HUGE step forward, not baby steps.
