Can you post your source of information?quantamidia wrote: Blackmagic, Matrox confirmed that there is no way to do this in FCP X. AJA is only mirroring DVI video output. But no the broadcast video output.
You know where to find that information .We’ve been working with third-party developers in our beta program to create drivers for Final Cut Pro X, and AJA has already posted beta drivers for its popular Kona card: www.aja.com/support/konaNEW/kona-3g.php .
AJA document...expect AJA to provide new and exciting interactions with the software and expand the workflow possibilities...
By the way you say
but Matrox says MVO Converts DVI to Broadcast and on top of that you can read this bit of information at creativecowquantamidia wrote: AJA is only mirroring DVI video output. But no the broadcast video output.
...The techie assured me they will have the MX02 family working in FCPX, they are working on it. I did not press for a date, no point in pushing something he can't answer.
Matrox is very positive about FCPX...

- Page 7 on this document. "The quality of the output produced editorial should be considered preview quality."... No broadcast quality.

How will Apple solve FCP X monitoring?
"AJA has announced a Final Cut Pro X solution that is effectively a mirrored desktop. Many find this unsuitable for color grading because of quality issues."
It will be the same for other manufacturers. For all solutions announced today are based on the same principle.

and my words...
"For all solutions announced today are based on the same principle."
It refers to the only way to get video output. Mirroring the second monitor output.
Yes, I was also one of rats to pay $ 399.00 for the beta program. But I asked my money back.

Even Avid did not have AJA support until recently! lol That find on the AJA site.
Besides why did you pay 399 for a Beta if you can get it for 299 in the App store?

FCP X is a beta program!!
I bought FCP X, Motion and Compressor 5 in App Store $ 399.00.
Motion 5 has greatly improved, but still has a very useful feature RAM Preview, Render to RAM whatever. So I still prefer After Effects.

If you can't see what happening and take 1 and 1 and add them up then I don't know what to tell you. Alone you saying you prefer a Program over another... I would suggest the right tool for the right job. Besides if used it since V3 then you know how long it took for Final Cut Pro to be what it is today.
But I will let this thread to be what it was meant to be... and you can keep ranting about FCPX in every positive thread you want.
Check you later dude!
P.S. don't go to a Italian restaurant and order Hamburger ...

FCPX simply rocked and I completed a 3.20min edit in just over two hours when it would have taken at least three hours in FCP7.
I exported to a QT movie as I was not confident of playing it off the timeline just yet. The client was blown away after being a little anxious when he asked how it was going earlier on.
If you liken FCP X to the car analogy it is like buying a hybrid Prius. It is not a muscle car and its new dashboard is a little off-putting. Unless you are prepared to take it for a test drive and look under the hood, dont buy it and dont complain about it. In fact this little hybrid car runs faster than the muscle car while using less fuel (or doing less work).
I have been using FCP since day one and it was getting slow and the interface was tiring. It needed a facelift. Avid has had the same interface for fifteen years.

If you don't like FCPX, move on, go to Avid, Premiere, Vegas or even Moviola. Don't waste your and our time. There are topics in every forum related to that. This topic is not.

same goes for people who "love" the new program.
I can't even think about purchasing it I can't even import Canon XF files, so for now it's no- go for me.

But...as time has gone on, I have come to like some of the features of X. So...in March of this year, after shooting a short film for a week in the mountains of North Carolina, I decided to start from scratch with FCPX and edit the entire short with it. Although I ran into a few hiccups, and found that the new trackless timeline could a pain in the butt, I've completely shifted to using FCPX full time on my edits. I'm still learning new things, and I'm hoping Apple will still beef it up as we get into more versions.
I do with I could open up my old FCP projects in X. And it seems the new Logic Pro X can open old Logic files, so maybe it's something Apple will add into a future release.
Thanks to everyone on this site, it's really teaching me a lot!!!!
