Blackmagic, Matrox confirmed that there is no way to do this in FCP X. AJA is only mirroring DVI video output. But no the broadcast video output.

Can you post your source of information?

We’ve been working with third-party developers in our beta program to create drivers for Final Cut Pro X, and AJA has already posted beta drivers for its popular Kona card: www.aja.com/support/konaNEW/kona-3g.php .

You know where to find that information .

...expect AJA to provide new and exciting interactions with the software and expand the workflow possibilities...

AJA document
By the way you say

quantamidia wrote: AJA is only mirroring DVI video output. But no the broadcast video output.

but Matrox says MVO Converts DVI to Broadcast and on top of that you can read this bit of information at creativecow

...The techie assured me they will have the MX02 family working in FCPX, they are working on it. I did not press for a date, no point in pushing something he can't answer.

Matrox is very positive about FCPX...

Here...

- Page 7 on this document. "The quality of the output produced editorial should be considered preview quality."... No broadcast quality.

from Philip Hodgetts Blog.

How will Apple solve FCP X monitoring?

"AJA has announced a Final Cut Pro X solution that is effectively a mirrored desktop. Many find this unsuitable for color grading because of quality issues."

It will be the same for other manufacturers. For all solutions announced today are based on the same principle.

Three years of development and only after launch will take care of the video I / O? Someone left the phone off the hook in the development of FCP X. Why? For all that the Pro will come in a few weeks? This to me demonstrates a failure to provide the resources.

and my words...

"For all solutions announced today are based on the same principle."

It refers to the only way to get video output. Mirroring the second monitor output.

Yes, I was also one of rats to pay $ 399.00 for the beta program. But I asked my money back.

you must have not used Final Cut Pro or Premiere in the Past a?
Even Avid did not have AJA support until recently! lol That find on the AJA site.
Besides why did you pay 399 for a Beta if you can get it for 299 in the App store?

I've never used Avid and Premiere (Pro) using FCP since version 3.0, buying, upgrading to version 7.0.3.

FCP X is a beta program!!

I bought FCP X, Motion and Compressor 5 in App Store $ 399.00.

Motion 5 has greatly improved, but still has a very useful feature RAM Preview, Render to RAM whatever. So I still prefer After Effects.

Why would I buy the car and not wait until it was created? Besides the Rim and Tire Industry is making a killing so I would guess people do by tires after they have bought a car. :silly:
If you can't see what happening and take 1 and 1 and add them up then I don't know what to tell you. Alone you saying you prefer a Program over another... I would suggest the right tool for the right job. Besides if used it since V3 then you know how long it took for Final Cut Pro to be what it is today.

But I will let this thread to be what it was meant to be... and you can keep ranting about FCPX in every positive thread you want.

Check you later dude!

P.S. don't go to a Italian restaurant and order Hamburger ... ;)

Why do I have to wait for the next FCP X? Because I have to believe in promises? If I change my way of editing, move on to another program, you do not plan to change my way of thinking.

P.S. don't go to a Italian restaurant and order Hamburger ...

Why not??? If he does, he will serve.

Think of FCP X as just another tool. You dont have to dump FCP 7. I did an SDE at a dancing competition with 120 hours of footage. It took me 2 hours to capture via XDCAM transfer (that would have been faster in Log and Transfer in FCP7) and then 2 hours to edit in FCP X and then play out to a screen.
FCPX simply rocked and I completed a 3.20min edit in just over two hours when it would have taken at least three hours in FCP7.
I exported to a QT movie as I was not confident of playing it off the timeline just yet. The client was blown away after being a little anxious when he asked how it was going earlier on.

If you liken FCP X to the car analogy it is like buying a hybrid Prius. It is not a muscle car and its new dashboard is a little off-putting. Unless you are prepared to take it for a test drive and look under the hood, dont buy it and dont complain about it. In fact this little hybrid car runs faster than the muscle car while using less fuel (or doing less work).
I have been using FCP since day one and it was getting slow and the interface was tiring. It needed a facelift. Avid has had the same interface for fifteen years.

You don't need to wait. And certainly you don't need to keep posting the same in every FCPX forum you find.

If you don't like FCPX, move on, go to Avid, Premiere, Vegas or even Moviola. Don't waste your and our time. There are topics in every forum related to that. This topic is not.

same goes for people who "love" the new program.
I can't even think about purchasing it I can't even import Canon XF files, so for now it's no- go for me.

There is a free tutorial from MacProVideo at the App store. Go to App Store and search for FCP. There are six tutorials from MPV. Michael is one of the original developers of the original FCP and loves the new FCP X. The successive lessons are around $20.
If you are learning FCPX this is the place to start.

I'm new here, and I'll be honest I fought FCPX for a long time...preferring FCP 7 or even Adobe Premiere. A friend of mine who started using FCPX told me I should at least give it a try. At the time I was editing very short comedy sketches for a YouTube channel, so I thought maybe, at least, it would be easy to edit these on FCPX. And my surprise...IT WAS EASY and QUICK! For awhile I used it for those shorts and a few 30 or 60 sec pieces I was working on, and told people I used it for quick projects and still used version 7 for my bigger edits (short films, docs).

But...as time has gone on, I have come to like some of the features of X. So...in March of this year, after shooting a short film for a week in the mountains of North Carolina, I decided to start from scratch with FCPX and edit the entire short with it. Although I ran into a few hiccups, and found that the new trackless timeline could a pain in the butt, I've completely shifted to using FCPX full time on my edits. I'm still learning new things, and I'm hoping Apple will still beef it up as we get into more versions.

I do with I could open up my old FCP projects in X. And it seems the new Logic Pro X can open old Logic files, so maybe it's something Apple will add into a future release.

Thanks to everyone on this site, it's really teaching me a lot!!!!
