In Apple's pro apps are a link to the feedback page. Go to the App Menu (Final Cut Pro menu) and there's an option to provide feedback.

I don't believe that pro codec updates have ever been included with the operating systems. Unless one has a pro application such as FCPX purchased on their system, the codec updates wouldn't be relevant and would not appear. Many users of OSX would not need this. A call to Apple could probably clarify this.

In the meantime, OSX support feedback can be provided here: www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

I've done the procedure you guys described. And it worked ! ... for some time. 3 days later, I'm asked to update again.

Any tips ?

Short of a update that fixes this, I really wish Apple would post a KB on how we can fix. Otherwise there's a lot of user experimentation going on.

What I did for the 2nd time I was asked to update 2.0.1 was to find the Library/Quicktime folder, I renamed it OLD TEMP QT, then ran the updater, what I noticed is that there was no new folder created, the install reported no errors, I wonder where the update updated to in this case...Oh well it worked so far... After a reboot, the renamed folder was renamed back to Quicktime and so far no new updates for 2.0.1 Pro Video Codecs...

I sent more than 1 report, 3 in total, first the error report, then 2 updates called Pro Video Updates...

I think it was on "The Grill" Chris Fenwick talked about how quick Apple Pro Dev was able to fix an error, now this Pro Video Update is more than 14 days and nothing from Apple....

The latest version is supposed to be the fixed version.

If so then the muppet doing the uploading needs a swift kick in the rear, then call it 2.0.2 or 2.0.1b so we as the user knows, as there is no change in the name or number it is still 2.0.1 then it must not be the fixed version..

Apple told me that they are aware of the issue and that there's no need to submit a bug report every time it happens. I will continue to submit a bug report every time it happens to hopefully annoy them into fixing the issue because otherwise they won't be bothered. We all know that Apple hates fixing stuff. So report away!

And yes, it has happened to me again.
