Legacy FCP has never been installed on my system as it has been FCPX ever since purchasing the Mac Pro in 2011. Also Compressor and Motion. I did, however install DVD SP two years ago using Pacifist and it still runs well today.

I didn't mean it literally, I meant it functionally, or in a more metaphorical sense.
The features that what made QuickTime Pro.. Um... "Pro" are now found in Compressor.
I seriously doubt Apple has ANY intention or releasing a QuickTime X Pro, since the pro functionality can be found in Compressor.

The transcode functions found in QT 7 Pro, are watered down and in the Finder now. I doubt we'll ever see a replacement for QT 7 Pro. In fact, I find very little use for QT 7 Pro anymore. Even playback is starting to suck (doesn't have a chapter menu).

You're right. That's true also.
Might be useful for many of the norms, but I find myself cracking out compressor, just because there isn't enough control on the output.
