Ahh. So that explains why my 7 year old can edit in FCPX, and while my buddy who went to film school has a hard time. ;)

Kidding aside, I'm not sure how it is less precise. I would call it brilliant.

what I pointed out is to help FCPX to make money.
What I pointed out is useful when real editing for broadcasting.

FCPX is not professional because some guy on the Internet said so.
And if it is on the Internet, it must be true.
I mean, duh, everyone knows that, bra!

Hey look, I use iPhone footage quite often in projects for clients that I get paid for. So is iPhone video professional or not? Ah, not a cut-and-dry answer, eh? I know a high school kid who does an occasional wedding video on weekends. Is he a student, or a professional? Or is there a new term we need to come up with?

Thus I personally insist that there is no such thing as professional anymore, there are no more industry standards, and that both terms are as out dated as horse drawn plows.

Simply my personal beliefs.

Is it martini time yet?

You are absolutely correct.
As a meeting ground for Final Cut Pro Users this place should allow people to comment on whats important to them concerning the software. I apologize "Artofoe", if it sounded I was responding without respect to my colleague and your concerns with the topic being discussed.

Your profession is your source of income.
So by rights anyone who professes to make a living using a certain tool.
Be it hammer or FCP X is a professional.

By definition of the term, truly the rest is semantics.

Respectfully my personal opinion.

As to being well trained... ah thats something different
