In rather a shock move to us, Hamburg PRO Media has withdrawn its FCPX products from sale. Why? Have they been bought and if so, who would buy them?

Time to catch up with this week's set of Ripple tutorials. An extra lesson on media managing, text in video and how to track a person in Motion.

Ever wondered what resolution and frame rates are good for shooting video on your GoPro? No need to worry, they have just launched a set of free tutorials.

With the risk of this week's posts becoming slightly 'Rippletastic' we can announce that they have just released a new set of colour correcting tutorials. Thers's a money off coupon until Friday too.

We got a bit busy over the last couple of days with the publication of our Tour de France article, so time to catch up with Ripple's three weekly tutorial videos.

It's now no secret that ITV4’s 2014 highlights coverage of the Tour de France was made by a team of editors working on Final Cut Pro X.

A production of this scale and quick turnaround had never been tried before on FCPX. Four edit suites with new Mac Pros connected to a 70 TB Xsan. All producing a highlights show on air on ITV4 at 7pm every day for 21 days. And with the Tour starting in the UK in Yorkshire and our output also being live on ITV1 on Saturday and Sunday afternoon to millions of viewers, the pressure was certainly on.

So enjoy our biggest FCPX user story of the year so far!

The majority of training for FCPX is in English, so when good quality instructional video or publications come along we like to feature them. This time it's a VOD course in German from Robin S Kurz. We also have a discount code available for the first 15 takers.

People use FCPX in many different ways. One of the uses we didn't expect it would shine at is stop motion animation editing.

Updates on all the pro video applications from Apple. No new features, however  some serious bugs have been quashed that will make our life a lot easier.

What on earth is a cinemagraph and how do you make one? This new episode of MacBreak Studio explains all.
