A wonderful short film from Chris Mckechnie about a boy wanting to become a park ranger for a day at Yosemite. Shot on 2 RED Epics (one of them mounted on a Movi) and all edited in Final Cut Pro X.

Twenty five minutes of advice from Zack Arnold that could literally save your life. You also get to find out what a burpee is. (No, we hadn't a clue either.)

Inspired, that's how we feel on a dull Thursday morning. Why? Well that's because we have discovered Mrs Williford's lessons & tutorials on FCPX at Hendrickson High School in Texas. Welcome to the future

alphadogs colour correction

This video from Terence Curran explaining the basics of colour correction got us thinking. How do you colour correct in FCPX?

In a word, cameras. Lots of them. A couple of other headlines, some interesting monitors and a copy of FCPX on the very 'Resolve & Eyeon heavy' stand. Keep reading as Resolve gets improved integration with Final Cut Pro X.

IBC day 1

The exhibition isn't even open yet and there are already headlines being written. New cameras, Blackmagic Design gets their cheque book out again, 4K everywhere and a very interesting piece of FCPX news that we are tracking down.

UPDATE NVIDIA card problem fixed

We saw the plugin pop up on Twitter last week, but didn't really take any notice until an FCP.co forum member posted an example online and we checked out out the price.

If you work in broadcast then you will be very familiar to having to keep an eye on video levels. Nobody loves a rejected master. Eyejeight has just announced the availability of a plugin legaliser to make sure your whites aren't too white.

bbc FCPX fcpdotco news

A short headline, but one that will have an immense impact on the broadcast and post production industry across the world. The BBC has chosen Final Cut Pro X as its NLE for news editing, but this is the tip of the iceberg as the move to FCPX is spreading fast across other departments.

hamburg pro media

In rather a shock move to us, Hamburg PRO Media has withdrawn its FCPX products from sale. Why? Have they been bought and if so, who would buy them?

It's now no secret that ITV4’s 2014 highlights coverage of the Tour de France was made by a team of editors working on Final Cut Pro X.

A production of this scale and quick turnaround had never been tried before on FCPX. Four edit suites with new Mac Pros connected to a 70 TB Xsan. All producing a highlights show on air on ITV4 at 7pm every day for 21 days. And with the Tour starting in the UK in Yorkshire and our output also being live on ITV1 on Saturday and Sunday afternoon to millions of viewers, the pressure was certainly on.

So enjoy our biggest FCPX user story of the year so far!
