Motion 5 Text Transparency Weirdness - Anybody Else Besides Me (or a solution?)

Ripple Training has Motion courses that are really great. I'd start there.

Just had a thought about something else that might be causing the transparency problems (I'm still having them WTF): I have some still photos (JPG format) in my project interspersed with the video - is the Pro Res 4444 fussy about what kind of photos are used or something? Do they need to be rendered first before the transparent text will show through? I've been trying all kinds of variations with this, wasn't planning on investing this much time on the learning curve

What is the background of the project set to?

I think I'm going to try reinstalling FCP 7 and see what happens - there are some unexplained (non) file rendering issues happening in the open project that may prove to :S be the real culprit here... although I've never encountered those before messing with Motion 5 files. Weird weird frustrating stuff to be sure...
