You are aware, you need the subject in greenscreen?

(yaaaawn) time for dinner, I'm an old man, getting tired soon.... results of first tinkering:




I first faked the original situation, color, greenscreen, now playing with 20.ooo particle (boohoo, my brave MacMini starts to groan ;) ) and dynamic masks; asks for some DoF ...

... will continue to play more tomorrow, you search the net meanwhile for a commercial=better solution

Gimme another 12h, had a busy day, will try to transform my test project into a plugin.

Plus, I have an idea, to create the 3d particle-bubble

Real-life first, son has a little football tournament.... Give me another 8h....
As you can see above, the basics are simple - in Motion.
Have transform into a plugin... Asks for some testing first....

... obviously, I talked too big - no plug-in, sorry!

The 'effect' itself can be accomplish (close) in Motion5 with a few clicks:



Trouble is, the main feature needed, that the particles pick up the color and shape of the subject/dropzone, doesn't work as a plugin - at last here... Maybe the M5-masters have a clue to make it work....

So, attached my M5 project, drop your greenscreen clip onto the 'Effect Source' and replace the background....

I added some Depth of Field and a Gravity Behaviour, watch the demo <<click ... adjust to your needs, as speed, number, size of particles...

Sorry, no easy-to-use plug in... :(

0) purchase Motion 5 from Appstore, if you don't own it allready ...

1) in FCPX, clip greenscreen, background clip, apply Keyer, adjust to your needs




2) deselect background clip (shortcut V), select a short range you want the effect for, Share, Master ...




3) download my ks_Particled_proto.zip in post above, double click to unzip, double-click to open it in Motion5

4) drag exported Master into/onto EFFECT SOURCE:



5) basically done ... to adjust speed of fallen particles, give Gravity a higher number



6) export from M5, reimport to FCPX, replace range in your Project by new version ....

I know you 'want', but sorry, I'm not Santa :lol:
aside, transition to what?
A transition is from source A to source B. Your example shows just an effect, source A from untouched to effected ...

Or do you want person A to desintegrate and then particles re-shape to Person B.... ???
