The Future Of FCPX

I'm not sure about Smoke 2013, it looks great and getting everything to translate back to that timeline is a long overdue god send feature that we should have had years ago.
But it's just a big (and welcomed) feature that was overdue, if the other main companies aren't already working on it hopefully now they will be pushed to. While it's a strong attraction I won't jump on it just for that.
I'm still liking that Apple are changing things up, they have their plan and I'm curious what it is and where it's going to go.
Something that interests me is what Smoke is running on, and the future of Apple hardware. It can run on MBP's and iMac's but looking at the "current" top end spec of each of these, it's going to run and it was doing great on that demo video, but reaching the limits of what it is really capable of, can it really?
Do they know something we don't?

I'm definitely interested in keeping an eye on this but I would see it as a finishing tool, not an editing tool - though the ability to make inevitable edit decisions - recuts, shot replacements and tweaks - during the finishing stage in a quick and simple way is really useful. The combination of this and FCPX just looks to me like its light years ahead of Adobe Suite. The question would be wether I had five grand to buy the app and upgrade my mac.

Yup and it has been mentioned right here ...
Maybe this is the time for a new trend all in one Application. Damn Adobe is behind!
Well they have added video editing in Photoshop!

Two things I noticed from the Premiere CS6 demos
1) You can FINALLY now drag a clip with different settings into the timeline and it asks you if you'd like to change the sequence settings.
2) They've implemented a version of skimming in their browser - it's pretty slick, remembers in and out points and also lets you know if the clip has been used in the project.
Clearly Adobe is borrowing some stuff from Apple, and Apple should borrow stuff from Adobe. These are exciting, but frustrating times to be a video editor.

It almost feels like they couldn't wait until Apple EOL Final Cut Pro 7 to add some it's features.
Especially tabs in Avid Media Composer 6 and now Adobe with
Now does that Adobe added skimming into Premiere does it make it unprofessional since iMove had this before?
