wokring on new music; vid two questions

Geoff, thanks for the update. It could be that the unmounted drive triggered a bug (?) in FCP whenever it polled various devices, causing a delay or timeout on a thread that ended up crashing FCP. It's pretty clear from Ian's various cool examples that there are much faster, easier, and less resource-intensive ways to do what you wanted.

All the time you spent on the VFX might have been better spent on the actual storytelling aspect of the video. Lucas was so obsessed with all of the virtual production and VFX in episodes 1 through 3 of Star Wars that the stories were quite poor. In your case, I would frame things so that you and the others are much more prominent, as I see that as more interesting than the background images (in addition to other considerations). A cool VFX doesn't, in and of itself, make a cool video; it's kind of like playing a single chord throughout an entire song... just my thoughts, which are worth as much as you paid for them...

Thanks for sharing your project. It's nice to see various techniques in practical use.

Ian, great examples of creating a similar effect. Thanks for mentioning the scene removal mask.
