FCPX A/V Output - Show Custom Overlay (from Viewer menu)

everyone i know be it DoPs, directors, producers or myself would like to see the artistic intention of the DoP at any time....

Different workflows. . I edit unstoryboarded documentaries for museums, often with very unusual framing. If I had my way DPs would be excellent technicians not artists. Get their exposures correct but shoot wide at a higher than needed resolution to allow reframing. I often find myself grinding my teeth at "artistic" camerawork. Its good to hear about others workflows though. I often get wrapped up in my own.

Definitely going to give sampl_e's suggestion a try for my next project.

For now I am going to have to let the director envision it while I am scrubbing through rushes and in the edit timeline I will use a PNG letterbox overlay.

Really hope Apple solves this very soon!
