Another option you may find helpful is using Adjustment layers. You can rename the layers to something meaningful, and you can copy layers onto other similar clips. This is free from Ripple Training, but you will find many other variants made by other people for free as well. They all just do the same thing, allow you to apply colour effects to the adjustment layer that will affect everything underneath. You can stack layers of different effects.

I took the Ripple course in Final Cut Pro and didn't like it. My best introduction was David A. Cox on Youtube.

Further to my earlier post in March where I stated "Currently CG can only be used with FCPX in Rosetta mode. ", please note that has now changed and Cinema Grade has now been updated to work in native mode on M1 computers and also in o/s Monterrey. Good to have it back and working again. 😊

May I suggest you read through the posts on page 1 of this thread, and you’ll get a better idea of my position as well as the opinions of others. Hopefully that will answer your question. Cheers.

We have both Cinema Grade and Color Finale Pro and actually seldom use either anymore. For most things we find FCP does a pretty good job at ...Color grading is the process of editing film or video footage to have a new look to help make a video feel more vibrant and stylistic. Define color correcting. Color correcting is the process of editing film or video footage to fix any imbalances in the color so it can appear how the eye is meant to see it.

Is your process to colour correct first, then grade from there? That's what I always do. It confuses some of the people I work with because they don't understand the difference between grading and correcting.

Hi, its bee a long time since i tried Cinema grade ( when it came out) , as I remember it has its own window , which did not output to the viewer and not to SDI OUT Monitoring , which made it useless for me since i have a reference Monitor on SDI out . is this solved in the meantime ? CF works on Viewer and is on ext output.
