What is the step by step method for recording a Blue Ray DVD directly fro the FCP timeline?

Thanks

You're investing in heartache trying to do it from the timeline. A better option is to let Roxio Toast do the heavy lifting. Export the final edit and create an ISO. Inventive types will discover a way around the standard lame menu options by modifying the PSD files located in the Toast Menu folder inside the app package.

Sometimes you can't create a BRD if you don't have a BR burner hooked up. The ISO / disc image creation method gets you around that hiccup. AND it's possible to create a Blueray on std 4.5 GB DVD media as long as the video is around 20 minutes. (Did one just this morning having 24:40 run time on a DVD disc.)

Pretty much discuss my approach at this thread:

Long ago I recall trying to make a BRD direct from FCP and remember failing at it so I thought I'd give it another shot on a 19 minute timeline of slide scans. That was two hours ago and it's still 'writing'. Nothing fancy other than cross dissolves between images and FCP has fallen and can't get up. I will NOT be revisiting FCP's ability to make a Bluray ever again.

First of all thank you for your detailed response. I am going to print it out and use it as my guide. So far by hit-and-miss I was able to record a Blue Ray DVD but when attempting this method again I've had nothing but failures.

Thanks again, I greatly appreciate you sharing your expertise.
