Length Indicators (diagonal strips) inside compound clip are inaccurate

Hi Doug,

I don't per say have a huge problem with the way X is designed, in this matter, when you create a compound clip, be it a single clip in the compound, or 2 or more in series or 1 primary storyline and multiple stacked secondaries, matters not, the same would apply...

I will explain, as I see it, the black box is a mistake, maybe an update will some day solve this, why do I say it is a mistake, well you can only work on one end at a time, to work on both ends so to speak, not feasible. So you choose to either work on a end, by end I mean head or tail of a clip.

if there are 2 clips, you use the 2 up display to precision edit the outgoing and incoming frame, as I see it, when you hit "open clip" after compound clip is created, you decide what needs to be edited, if you have more media than what is seen as it is today, it would be helpful to see the remaining media, less bright, under the grey stripes.

maybe if the black box was red, or invisible, or not there, the media would be seen, all you would see is the media less bright, the black box I would suspect easy to code into a 100% invisible box.



I have no problems if you disagree, I feel that the addition of this solution improves editing, maybe you agree, maybe you don't, in the end Apple decides...Anyway it is great always to have more informed ideas than few...

There is a bug when opening a Compound Clip from within a Project Timeline it is being used in. The handles are not showing properly. Yes, it is a bug in 10.3.3.

oh.. so what does that mean.. the black box at the end of the clip is the bug? What my last post suggested was in fact the normal action????

I was not paying that much attention to it to be honest... now I am confused...oh well..

What do I want in 10.3.4? Well I guess this to be fixed...can I ask that here????? ooops just did!! :oops:

The bug is with the position indicators and is unrelated to what you are describing which is your opinion about unused media and how it ought to display after the right position indicator in a compound clip (behaviour which is not unique to 10.3.3)

Of course you are entitled to your opinion but it is not the issue at hand and is detracting from the original topic.
