I wonder how this new plugin compares to using the Enveloper with some EQ – effects already in FCPX.

Karsten CrumplePop makes 30% (sometimes more) sales at least 3 or 4 times a year

I don't think Reverb can be fixed just be handling attack and release transients. If it were that simply you'd be seeing tutorials and workflows using the enveloper to fix reverb. Perhaps echo but not reverb.

I tried the Crumplepop plug-in but the "watermark" tone is so loud it's impossible to give it an effective trial. It also crashed FCPX so I'll leave it to someone else to report on it. YMMV

Take a look at forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/1039755 and
(not a well-done tutorial but the concept it there).

Also the tutorial for CrumplePop just shows three sliders: strength, release and bass reduction. Enveloper plus EQ has all of this plus attack. Perhaps CrumplePop has some magic algorithm, but their controls suggest just a repackaging of part of what Enveloper does. That's why I'd be curious about an actual comparison.

I don't expect either CumplePop or Enveloper to handle serious reverb, but I doubt CumplePop can do better than Enveloper in skilled hands.

Interesting improvement given it's primarily dealing with attack/release transients.

That tutorial is good for when the original voice is MUCH louder than the reverb, and there's a LOT of twiddling around to get the EQ to clean it up. That's a ton of work if you have a lot of clips. RX is way faster (but not cheap). If Crumple Pop can get this version 1 plugin to work properly, that'd be fantastic.

I agree, the watermark tone is so loud you can't really evaluate it at all. Total waste of time with the free demo version.
