The video is shot on the other side of the globe.
The quality I get now is much better than years past.

Most of all you mention is video production.
I have no control over what I am sent.
Other than making suggestions, you have to work with what you get.
-Do what you can to what they are willing to pay for, and what the production quality will allow for.

for under 100$ you get superb Lavs, and for a few bucks additionally an extension cable - make'em a gift! (and maybe they understand your 'hidden' message....)

The earlier videos I did were a real nightmare. There may still be some up there on youtube where there was no background screen. It was a 'flipboard' of sorts that I needed to put text on. The text had to look like it was on the board (never really did), so I needed to key out areas where his hand would move over the board.. Horrible stuff to try and key.. especially on low quality h264 clips. Many times I resorted to rotoscoping.. I helped the production along and eventually we got the back screen that is there now, with a real greenscreen.. (still working on the lighting for that).
FCP is made good for this type of video and graphics. In that video I linked too, there is a part somewhere in the middle where you can see (within the TV screen) how they are created. The back is an alpha with a hole cut out..A White gradient then goes behind that. Text then is placed between the two. And then finally the main greenscreen video is placed above them all.
Motions title and filter integration is good here because I am constantly making new animated titles to FCP publishing. various things for what he asks for.
I do wish there was either a good stand alone or plugin for FCP for animations or whiteboard type videos... Something that really traces and looks good when 'drawn' on screen.
Easy sketch pro 2 has more bugs in it than an abandon house, but so far it is all I can find for a downloadable software. Crazy talk software, for the character animations, took some time to learn (and that is just to the point of where I can make it 'pass') Very time consuming work.
