problem with FCPX & HD

Either the project package or the drive permissions were screwed up. I had this issue when Mavericks was first released, but the first update to Mavericks fixed it. Very odd indeed. I'd have loved to see screen shots of the drive's permissions, and the library package's permissions. At least you're moving forward. If a new Library is working for you just fine, I'd say something was wrong with the Library Package permissions.

Not at my studio right now, but there is a free utility app I used to fix this issue in the past. I'm betting it would have fixed your issue right away. Can't remember the name of it now, but will post it when I'm back in the studio.
