This probably won't get "fixed" because it's not really a bug, it's the way Rotation affects the different stacked clips inside a compound clip.
If you want to rotate clips that are inside a compound clip you need to open the compound clip in its own timeline and rotate the clips on that timeline.

I think it's a bug because I believe it used to work the way I expected it to.
A compound clip is just a container like a group in Motion or Photoshop. When you group a number of layers in either of those applications and transform the group in any way, the elements inside the group all maintain their relative positions and sizes within the borders of the group container.
Compound clips should act the same way and I believe at one time they did.
I tried applying two different third party cropping tools in FCP X. One was Alex 4D Trim from Alex Gollner and the other was TKY Super Crop from Simon Ubsdell. The clip trimmed with Alex's filter worked properly. Simon's didn't. When I opened them up in Motion I found that Alex had essentially published the cropping parameters from Motion while Simon used masks. It seems that cropping in FCP X is using some form of masking (like Simon's plug-in) as opposed to whatever form of cropping is used in Motion. There's obviously some difference.
Anyway - that's just my 2 cents at the end of the day. LOL! I'm going home!

Yep, that makes sense.
Anyway, keep bugging them about this and hopefully they can change the way it works. Nearly midnight here in Belgium, I'm signing off as well.
