The critical paste attributes bug seems to be solved :woohoo:

So just a bug update with some extra improvements, but a very welcome one!

which is weird! The whole Motion 5.1.1 is 2.85GB and the point update is 1.68GB just to fix a Blue Ray image

- XML round-trip imports correctly when using gap clips

This is a joke Apple build into the release notes, don't take it serious. They just forgot to add a smilie or something similar to that.

No, seriously - except the gap error which sometimes happened nothing has changed. A reliable roundtrip for more complex projects is still not possible cause of the lack of parameter support in XML export and import.

For me, I was forced into downloading and installing directly after installing the 10.1.3 update. This is what happened, I ran the App Store, there was the 10.1.3 update, I downloaded it, took a while, slow internet here, when the progress bar reached the far right, finished, the App Store refreshed by itself, not by me, and the entire FCP X 10.1.3 version download, all 3GB worth.

What was the patch all about if I overwrote FCP 10.1.2 with the 3GB FCP X 10.1.3 download, I could not stop it, I could not cancel it, I only had PAUSE,

Ripple Training claim that this is how FCP X works, never from 10.0.0 to 10.1.2 was I forced to re install the software after an update, what is going on??

Any one who is running 10.1.3 have a *new* bug where FCP X goes into a infinite backup loop and stutters the app's UI? Hitting 2 of our Mac Pros.

I might try a delete and re-download of FCP X. Sometimes that fixes things.

After downloading and installing any update don't forget to refresh your FCP X preferences. This will avoid many common problems.

If you are experiencing unexpected errors such as UI freezing or anything similar: re-install from the App store.

So to sum up, DO NOT UPDATE, rather delete, then install, no problems? I still have 1 question, if we are to delete and re-install, why patch??

There are no patches with FCP X. Every update is a new and complete version of the app.

No it is not, I have never had to download and install FCP X after an update, ran the update, launched the app, and edited, today was the 1st time I ran the App Store, installed 125MB file, then the App Store so kindly re-installed FCP X, after downloading almost 3GB.

This is the 1st time this happened, and it is not right, what was the update for?

The 125 MB was applied to 10.1.2, as I did not have 10.1.3 installed, after the App Store finished installing the 125 MB file, it automatically set about downloading FCP X 10.1.3...

I could not cancel, stop the download, all I had was 1 button-PAUSE... After almost 14 hours downloading, the FCP X icon which was greyed out, was all shiny and bright, and was labelled 10.1.3.

I had no option, it was a forced uncontrolled download, not by me, by Apple, which is not right!

There have occasionally been bugs with appStore downloads- sometimes by region, necessitating a double download. I had to do it with 10.0.3, I believe.

My download of 10.1.3 was 195mb. No additional installation needed. Perhaps your download failed at some point, necessitating re-downloading the entire app. It happens.

No, it was 125MB or 195MB, as soon as this file installed, instantly App Store refreshed and the 10.1.3. FCP X file was forced to download, I only had PAUSE, no cancel. Only Pause.

Ripple Training claim that to install the 195MB file then automatically install the next full version of the App is normal, which to me makes no sense, why install the 195MB file, if you are going to download the entire 3GB App seconds later??? Something is not right here.

There was no App store failure, or any error, the entire thing was automatically done by Apple, I could not stop or control it.

AppStore download errors aren't shown, they just trigger re-downloads.

If it's installed now, why bother worrying about it? It's done.

There was no error, the file 195MB or whatever it was, around 200MB, not a huge 2.8GB file, small, this file downloaded and installed, no errors, without any input, without any pause, no warning, the FCP X 10.1.3 2.8GB file downloaded.

This is not right, I have sent a bug report to Apple, as was said in Virtual User Group 2, Apple say they read every report, but the guest on the show all but confirmed they DO NOT read every post.

Something with the App Store is not right.

Bug, when you delete a keyword in the keyword editor, it deletes the clip from the Event. Not cool.

Also, when the keyword editor is not the active pane, the keyword tags go solid white.
