Having trouble exporting project

Tried to get Compressor 4 but as don't have fcp 10.9 version 10.7 it wouldn't let me. Where are the others.?

Even if at this time you don't want to update to 10.1 you really should update to 10.0.9. It's free

Is that file still uploading to Youtube? That's way too long. How much progress do you have in the Activity Monitor? And how long is your edit?

I've just reloaded it 1 hour ago, 48 minutes long at 11% , didn't go through last night was at 80% after 7 hours and didn't go through. Have uploaded one this week 45 minutes long and another 5minutes just before the latest. I will update after this loads, does that mean the latest 10.1 is free as well to upload ,if so why not update to that one. Thanks again.

10.1.1 is free as well and yes, it would be better to update to that version if you have Mavericks OS installed.

10.1 requires Mavericks, and Mavericks is free as well

OK got compressor was worried by all the negative comments on apple, could be true as in my case my project
has failed at 2.03 minutes 4 times . Checked out tutorials even latest on fcp.co and doesn't seem to be what I have? looking for help.

Whats wrong with my compressor, whats the best current compressor tutorial that is free. Keeps stoping at 2.03 minutes of processing a 45min project.

There is no single tutorial that can cover everything Compressor can do, except the Compressor manual

To find out why something is going wrong it would be helpful to get some details on what you are exactly trying to do:

1. Provide some system information:

- what kind of Mac are you working on?
- what is your current OS version, version of FCPX, version of Compressor?

2. What exactly are you trying to do:

- are you trying to convert a QT movie to another format in Compressor? If so: what kind of movie? To what format are you trying to convert the movie?
- or are you trying to send an edit straight form FCPX into Compressor?

Without this basic information it is impossible to know what may be happening, especially as you haven't worked with Compressor before.

Latest version of OS Maverick and 4.1.1 Compressor which you said to get last week.
I am trying to see if using Compressor will be quicker to upload my projects to you tube.
I like the benefit of multi uploads as direct from FCP can only do one at a time and as my project are full games of rugby league 80minutes plus pre and post game can add another 10minutes. I have no problem with short 5minutes as approx 1hr to upload , 1.2hr takes approx 14 hours.
A 30 minutes export from fcp is a Quick Time Movie 1280 x 720 25fpc and approx 2.3 GB
filmed 1080 AVCHD and imported via SD cards. As this is a love projects and I post 5-6 minutes weekly coach wrap-up project and then film game ,edit and post weekly, anything that will make my uploads easier ,faster and eliminate failures would be greatly helpful.
I am interested to hear from anybody that could make my workflow smoother.
Back to the problem , I exported a Master to the desktop and once i had gotten Compressor and dragged to compressed ,4 attempts it stopped at 2.03 minutes, my Master is HD 720p. Its frustrating living 1200 miles from the nearest Authorised Apple store as there is nobody to talk to, stores are badged as Apple stores just ask them any questions about their products and they will quickly tell you to ring apple or go online.
Hope this is enough info.

Folks at Apple's own retail stores, and their phone support don't know crap about the pro apps. You're not missing anything.

What specific Mac model/year are you using?
What GPU?

I assume, from previous messages in this thread, that your master file is 1280x720p25 using ProRes 422. That is the file input into compressor. Is that correct?

What compressor settings are you using? The Publish to Youtube setting? Did you make any modifications?

As Ben asked, which Mac are you using? How many disks? How much free disk space?

Hi, I'm not sure what happened but i am now updated to 10.1.1, had drama but had help and deleted and reinstalled FCP. My question to you is reading back over some of the previous suggestions that to improve
exporting to you tube should i still tick the Nap App box. Loaded a 5.4Gb video 20 hr upload first go and a DVD( dual layer ) from a 4.7Gb video. Have reinstall Compressor as didn't work either and yet to use.
Looking for 10.1.1 detailed tutorials.

What does the DVD have to do with all of this?
