Yellow warning triangle on Event Library 17 Aug 2021 00:07 #115796
I thought I'd add a new data point for the discussion.
I just encountered the warning triangle for the first time in over 3 years using FCPX (I'm still on 10.4.10 and Mojave). I was working in FCPX and then quit it for lunch. After an hour, or so, I returned and after launch I saw the triangle on two Projects in one Event. I deleted generated media, proxies, etc. I saw no clips (with "All Clips" on) with missing media. What I did notice is that FXFactory gave me a notification during launch to update a plugin. So, I wonder if changing plugins while FCPX is launching or afterwards could cause this issue. I also have CommandPost running, so there could be a conflict there. I used Digital Rebellion's utilities to try to fix things and nothing helped. What did work for me was to export the projects as fcpxml and re-import them. No more triangle. I wonder if some cache file in the Library or elsewhere is "glitching" and triggering the issue... or ??? Anyway, this may help some of you. It is annoying to stare at a warning icon when you believe things are okay... Cheers. |

I found this page and am resurrecting it! In my case, this issue is caused by a custom Title I built using Motion. I edit on two different Macs and apparently, I placed the Title in two different locations on each machine. So it shows the exclamation (or BANG as we used to call them in the old Windows Device Manager days) when I'm on my Mac Pro but it's fine when I'm on my MacBook since that's where I started my edit and first laid down the custom Title. The fix for me is to put the Title in both locations on both computers so that no matter where it thinks it should be, it will be there!

Another +1 here. It's happening to me, too. Not surprised at the bug persisting, because FCPX still messes up the browser window on start up *every single time*, magically massively enlarging my clip view, scrolling to bottom etc. I guess the folks responsible don't care. That's a known problem since forever.
I have the delightful yellow triangle of death despite there being zero missing files, zero telltale red clips, zero missing effects, zero files needing relinking, and browser set to view all. I've deleted and re-deleted render files, prefs, proxy media... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

As far as the enlarge clip view thing.... Command Z collapses everything kind of tidy like but I agree, I hate that scrolling crap and you can't collapse everything at the same time when they DO mysteriously all expand unattended.

I am working on a simple utility for this. It won't be fancy like the X-FX Handler app Andreas made, but hopefully it will be better than nothing. I am busy on other things for a few days, then I'll get back to work on it. Maybe in a couple of weeks...
