There was some discussion a while ago, not sure if it was here, about the limits of the SQLite databases underpinning X. Not so much the size, but the amount of ... entries? Something like that. I think once you hit that wall (compounds within compounds etc) is when problems pop up.

Can't sleep? Try this: fcpxpert.net ;-)

I agree. It's not about file size but more about media organization. The project screenshot from above was running very slow at first. I transferred it from my Early-2011 MBP 2.2Ghz, 16GB RAM, 1GV VRAM, Seagate Thunderbolt Dock to the new iMac.

At first, it was very slow in the new iMac but...
1. I cleaned the organization from 2 events down to 1 event
2. Organized event files (copied original media to Event folder within FCPX)
3. Converted to ProRes (optimized media)
4. Rendered and verified any corrupt clips (un-rendered & red bars in the timeline)
5. Then replaced them corrupted with new (of the same) clips
6. Deleted all my renders and then re-rendered again and again.

After all of the maintenance I did to the Event/Project/Timeline - it started to move quickly again.

*Also, when the project above was completed and ready for render, I was getting the Quicktime -50 error because of corrupt clips in the timeline. It took a while to figure out but in the end, it worked out and I've learned a lot on media management and corrupt events/projects/clips.

Downloaded your file. well fcpx starts quickly about 3 min.
i looked in multicam. yes it is difficult. many compounds and don`t no why no Break Apart command.

but select angle (screen pic) go to in compound then select all clips inside and cut return to angle and past.
edit pointer (don`t no how in english) must be at start of angle you selected.

i can make if for you but if yourself make it you will see is where any problem or not.
after i made that with two multicams close fcpx and open again it started little quicker.

Atamanov/Mester,

Since the break apart does not work, you can:

1. Open the compound clip in the timeline
2. Copy the contents then go back to the main timeline
3. Place the playhead before the compound clip that is to be replaced
4. Paste the contents there and verify that it works. If is works, delete the Compound clip.

This should work and help eliminate compound clips. You can go to the extent of starting a new project and going into each compound clip in the main timeline and paste them into the new project.

thanks a lot guys for new angles ;)

I was abel to get it all online and output a 128GB masterfile, and before I was abel to find most source material and make small color adjustments, so we will take the masterfile in to a new project and make the rest by using blade tool, there are no transissions, pure cuts, so its soon on its way out, and next time they hopefully will call me before it gets sick
