How big are your biggest event/project file?
its a database file and should grow bigger the more info it must carry
my own biggest event filer is 73mb, and biggest project-file is 32mb, but I have client files on 320mb project file, and 270mb event file, both are damaged and almost impossible to work in
so how big are your biggest files, and what do you do to bring the size down? I have used Pro Versioner who did a ok job, but did not solve the issue
thanks

Biggest Project File 41MB
Remember though that FCP X is a 64 bit program so it's never going to come up against the same memory limitation that FCP 7 will.

Project File Size: 598.5MB
Total Event Folder Size: 1.02TB

This project has been working fine but a current multicam project has crashed a few times, which I'm still troubleshooting.

It's as mentioned the usage of compounds, multiclips and templates.
I've had had some very small simple projects for subtitles with several languages which took forever to open. To switch the role/language took forever as as well.
With subtitles there is a simple reason, each subtitle will reload the template and compare the original settings against the actual project settings of this template. With a few thousands of them it might take a while -- speed will vary depending on your system setup. So each time you change something there will be a look up in the databases for this actual template at this tc. This means not all databases are updated since X assumes that the template is the same. Using a custom template and modify it only the actual instance will be affected -- till the next launch of X. With the next launch all databases and their relations again will be compared and updated and all the instances of your modified template as well. This -- as said -- may take a while (and under some circumstances makes you unhappy cause of the result).
Using multiple (instances of) compounds or multiclips will create more or less the same issue. Several databases have to be linked and updated. This can additionally be slowed down if you renamed an event since the actual paths of files used in the event are not stored in the databases at the time you change it and not stored at the time you quit (auto save).
The next time X launches it will first look for the paths stored in the databases. If those paths are not found it will try to re-scan the original media folder of the matching events. In case a connection to the "original" original media can be be found everything looks fine for the user, but is still not saved into the databases. With every launch of X the same thing will happen unless you relink the files of every event before closing. Latter will cause all projects connected to these events to be updated as well.
If -- as mentioned by Atamanov -- even the XML takes up such a long time there is something wrong within the event/project organization.
Beside that: cause of the way X saves XMLs they are no real help if you want to re-create a project (since no parameters are saved or can be read) -- they will give you some basics only.
So back to the original question: How big are your biggest event/project file?
Doesn't matter, FCPX does handle huge files if they are set up in way FCPX likes.
my 2 cents
Andreas

Biggest Event file 81mb.
One way to bring down a project file size is to copy and paste it into a new project timeline.
