I'm not sure that app is relivant to FCP X, though. It was developed as an alternative to the old Log & Transfer plugin that was written by Canon themselves. We don't use that plugin with FCP X any more.

Hello
Just as a point of reference 5DtoRGB can be used with any AVCHD footage. Maybe the developer should change the name to better reflect this ability. This was the point of my original post, the AVCHD reference. Also, it should be noted that the application does allow one to avoid the use of quicktime conversion.
On a personal note, i also find that the footage conversion results are more pleasant (at least to these eyes).

Thanks again for all you help on this. One other question in regards to your "You'll have 2 copies" comment. I have 3; Orig, Trans and Proxy. Can I delete all of the Transcoded files because they are massive, since I am using Proxy files? ei. Orig file was 600mb, Trans 6gb, Proxy 600mb.

You can select to make copies on import.
To do it afterwards, select all the clips, right-click, select "Transcode Media".

Switch Preferences to access Original/Optimized files.
Go to the Timeline or Browser, right-click a clip, choose "Reveal In Finder". Whatever copy it points to, that's the one it wants.
Do an experiment if it points to the ProRes, which it probably will since you Optimized it. If so, quite FCP X, then "move", don't delete, that folder to a different location. Go back into Final Cut. Of course the stuff will be missing, but select that Event in the Library, right-click it, and do "Reconnect Media". See if that works. If so, then delete the Optimized Files folder.

Well that's handy ! I often had doubts whether or not I was choosing the right file after optimizing some and not others. This is good to know.
