Another simple FCPX Transition plug in : Shapes Transition
In published parameters : You can choose from Ten Shapes and make regular transition with second clip or make transition to solid color of your choice.
Unzip the attachment and put the folder “ Shapes Transition “ in User/ Your name/ Movies/Motion Templates/Transitions/Pielle

Very nice! One of my favorite emitter tricks. Maybe add a drop zone for adding your own image to it.
