// after dl, install in Movies/Motion Templates/3D //
A highly specialized Title (maybe Steve Martin from rippletraining has some use for it ![]() It mimics the effect of being underwater; the title’s distortion is animated, same with the textured light swirling over it. The OSC positions the 3D camera, allowing you a more from the top/bottom and left/right view. I added a Title-Size slider, which allows font-sizes of up to 500pts, instead of the ~280pts limit in FCPX’ font settings (the number is not pts!). Plus, it moves the two tiny strings of bubbles….. (watch carefully ![]() built-in/-out switches off the In-/Out-animation. Opacity… uhm, well, … makes it more or less opaque. You can make the title shorter or longer but animations have a fix speed… Feel free to modify, post your adjustments here. Enjoy movie making! |

This is exactly what I've been looking for to use on all my scuba diving videos! Unfortunately I'm having a problem. I'm using FCPX and copied the entire contents of the zip file into Motion Templates/Titles/3D. It shows up in my Titles browser and displays the icon appropriately. However, as soon as I hover my mouse over it, the background changes to bring red with a big T and a yellow exclamation point. Please advise.

Thank you for getting back to me....
Everything is as you mention except that ks_SCUBA.moti does not have a purple icon. It has terminal window looking icon with "exec" printed identifying a unknown file type. Do I need to have Motion installed to use the plugin? I am using FCP X 10.1.3. Thanks! |

Very nice template, once again. And from a guy not too long ago showed up here knowing next to nothing. HA! You're popping out some great work, Karsten. I have an idea to expand on this one. If I ever get time, which is so short now that my kids are home from school all day long (so add "babysitter" to my titles of "editor" and "carpenter" and "composer"), I'd like to rig this with an additional parameter. I'll describe it here, because someone else may be abel to get to it before I am able.
I'd put a Bump Map effect on the text. Create a Drop Zone that the Bump Map reads from. And a drop down menu rig. So the user could go from the cloud generator to using their own video clip for a bump map effect. Say you have actual water, maybe on the surface. Or light rays coming down from the surface to beneath the water. Then you could map that texture to the text. This way the text would follow the same texture in your video, or your own custom texture. Just a thought. |

<cough> Can we rephrase that to "knowing nothing about Motion/FCPX".. ? ![]() +40y interested in moviemaking, pref. Effects, +10y the iMovie guy at ASC, operating a website with 'Dirty Tricks'.,teaching, etc ... There were some basics before coming this cozy place... ![]() But switching gears to serious It is indeed impressive, what a kitchen-table producer like me can create WITHOUT any programming skills with those tools! And that is the main difference to others: I spend my powder for creating things, not for wrestling technology.... (btw: I'm way too stupid to undeerstand Quartz, Metal, Swift, SDKs, wotever...) |
