FCPX style scrubbing in LPX? 21 May 2014 00:10 #46383

I've googled myself silly looking for the answer to this. Is is possible to scrub through audio in LPX like you do in FCPX?

There are shortcuts that allow you to step through a project per bar or per 8 bars but what i really want is to be able to play back more dynamically - at 2x, 4x, 8x speed like in FCP X.

I feel like i should be able to scrub/skim through an audio file and through a project at more than just 1:1 speed. Is this possible?

It works with an outboard controller such as Mackie MCU.

There's a key command "Scrub Forward" and "Scrub Rewind" that works that way, however you can't control speed and is generally not done well.

Oh, there is also the "varispeed". But also doesn't work dynamically like true scrubbing, you just set a "speed" and the project will non-destructively play at different speed.
