TKY FCPX "Camera" Effects - Super 8 Look, Tilt Shift PLUS Bokeh Lens Blur 05 Nov 2013 00:16 #33689
Hi Guys,
The one gripe i have with the Tilt shift (even though i still like using it) Is that it actually doesn't Tilt/shift. What it does is blur the area you choose by the amount you choose. A real tilt shifter actually changes the perspective of the shot. This means that if you wanted a tilt shift plugin you would need to zoom in the shot to avoid the black corners from shrinking one side to alter the perspective. Its better to use the Tilt shift lens (obviously) than try to do it after. |

What you say is partially true. The shift part of a true tilt shift system does alter the perspective of the shot, but only with the purpose of correcting perspective distortion. |

When you say "only with the purpose of correcting distortion" that would be true, from an architectural photographer's point of view, but if you were an artistic photographer where you are not looking for anything to be "corrected" it would be quite the opposite, "deliberately distorted!"
By the way your free effects are cool, SImon, I use them all the time. |
