Highlite Effect 02 Mar 2015 11:28 #60691

Hi,

for my soccer projects I needed a Highlite effect. This was a good one to test a few new skills, I learned, so I built my own one.

Those familiar with M5 will notice, the circle is borrowed from the particle emitters.
Usage is drop-dead easy:
  • Just drag the effect on your clip.
  • An OnScreenControl allows to set the highlighter to any position.
  • You can adjust size.
  • And I applied 4 color-schemes (yes, one in Pink, I know on the other side of the pond, soccer is a girls sport ;)

This is a vers. .09, due to one restriction: I cannot manage to set keyframes! :S
Tried every group/element, published any parameter - no luck.

So, actually, you can highlight only stills.-
If anyone has an idea, how to move this thingie… let me know!

To locate it, you'd simply use the Transform keyframes from the Video section of the Inspector. Very easy, no need to publish anything that would be redundant.

That's what I'm actually doing.

But when you 'offer' the user a handle = OSC, it would be much more convenient to click a keyframe button, drag the OSC to next stop, and automatically next keyframe is set.

To add an OSC you may want to follow Alex’s detailed explanation here ( make sure to read the comments as he does a great job of explaining it further: www.fcp.co/forum/6-motion-5/688-tutorial...al-cut-pro-x-effects

no, but no need to use this very simple (one of my first) plug-in:
the graphics are 'stock'genertors from within Motion, so if you own M5 and know how to handle it, it's done in minutes - incl. tracking ....
