Slice-X - i dont need to TRACK a moving object I just need to remove a static dead pixel Help? 05 Aug 2016 11:08 #79003

Hi there
I have a dead pixel (Well two actually) in some footage.
So I'm trying to use Slice X Object Remover to clone from another X Y of the .
I locate my dead pixel, off set it to nearby, but then when I hit track forward the position its try to get rid of just flies all around the screen.
I need the location/s to stay static as the camera is static and the dead pixel is (Obviously) static.

How can I achieve this please?

One idea is to composite in an adjacent pixel.

Clone your shot. You can just copy and paste it on top of the other shot in your timeline.

Now zoom waaaay in. You're going to mask off pixels or one pixel if you can right next to your dead pixel using the crop tool.

Slide that cropped live pixel (or small patch of pixels) over top of your dead one using the positioning (X and Y) in the video tab of the inspector.

Done.

Brilliant idea. Took a while due to so many of the angles being on the one that had the issue, plus there were three dead pixels after all but I cant be bothered removing the third.
I should also really learn how to mask and feather things like this one day.
I'm surprised there is not a plug-in already out there that does this for free.

Here the finished project in case anyone wants a looksee

Again thanks for your help.
