Get a 3D rendered scene into Final Cut Pro from Cinema 4D with Drop Zones? Izzyvideo shows you how.

Cinema 4D to Blender to Motion to Final Cut Pro 19 Aug 2021 10:07 #115836

Hi Peter,

Thanks for linking to my ‘Blender to Motion 2021’ video!

I’m certainly interested in being able to bring motion tracking data into Motion, but that script doesn’t seem to be available. However, now that you can import 3D objects as USDZ files into Motion, it’s become less necessary for this type of workflow.

Here’s how you might go about creating the stage with drop zones as shown in the Deyson video:

- Create the stage animation in Blender

- Bring it into Motion as a USDZ file using the process described in my video

- In Motion create your 3D scene with the stag animation, a camera, lights, 3D text and Drop Zones

- Animate the camera using Behaviours

- Create a template for FCP

One advantage is you can drag the stage animation into Motion’s 3D Objects library, so it’s always available to reuse.

Ian

Using mO2 from MotionVFX you can bring in much more data and have much more control.
