Text Up In Smoke was created by Hans
I'd really like to find a text template for text to go up in smoke or into dust for FCPX, or figure out how to create on in Motion 5. Here's an example:

Does anyone know if one similar exists for FCPX?

By the way, I love this forum and all the wonderful effects. Thanks guys and gals!

I believe the book "How To Cheat In Motion" has stuff to do this. Simple particle generator over. Text layer that uses a wipe transition.

IIRC, Andy Neill has a tutorial on something similar that you could use as an example.

Ben, is "How to Cheat in Motion" still worth to buy in the days of Motion 5?

You can google out or find it on youtube. Works fine on Motion 5.

Thanks TrixTrax9000 ...

Actually that's the first ever tutorial I have attempted so I'm pleased to hear it wasn't a complete wash-out!

If I make any more I'll be sure to post them here on the Tutorials forum.
