Morning all i just brought 2 pluggins through fcpeffects.com and now my fcp pro x wont open and keeps crashing.

Can anyone help me?

I'm not a super tech guy, but I'm sure anyone here will need more details. Machine, OS, FCPX version, which plugs, how'd you install, etc?

Also the developer won't leave you stranded either.

The machine - iMac
OS - Lion 10.7.5
FCP PRO X

The pluggins are Masking Tools and Perspective Plugin which i paid for through the website and download, one installed they were in my fcp pro x program.

I have contacted them but they are in america so may be asleep

Does this help? I cant load the program to unistall these updates as it keeps crashes

How did you install them, & how do you know they were in your FCPX program?

Which version of FCPX do you have ?
10.5?
10.6?
10.7?

because i had a play with them for about 5 minutes then CRASH no more fcpx !! i have the latest version as i have no software updates

yes i think it is

i was just playing with the new plugins and now when i try to load the program every time it loads it crashes and says "final cut quit unexpectedly"

If you want to run Final Cut Pro without the new plug-ins, you can uninstall them by going to the Motion Templates folder in the Movies folder of your Home folder.

Imagine the effect you want to remove is called 'Alex4D Letterbox' - which is in a category named 'Alex4D':




To remove it, first open the folders on your computer so they look like this:



The 'Alex4D Letterbox' is stored as a special folder that Final Cut Pro uses to make the effect available in projects.

Drag the effect folder (known as a 'Motion Template') from inside the Motion Templates folder to anywhere else on your computer.

If the effect is causing Final Cut Pro not to open, then moving it will fix your problem.
