Sky Sports News on screen graphics

I have been asked if it is possible to have some graphics on tv like sky sports news use to promote upcoming events at a rugby club. We may be playing the last game as the main video but want to show news upcoming events around it. Does anyone know where to start with this? How easy it is to produce or if there are any plug ins that do the same job? I've been directed here as there maybe some templates already out there that can do this?
