How best to archive files from Ninja Blade?

I usually shoot on a Nikon D750 and record to an Atomos Ninja Blade. This is great, except my original source files are now ProRes 422 and take up a ton of space. If I record internally on my DSLR, then the Original Media is ok size, and I can render optimized mdeia while editing, then delete all rendered files.

What would you recommend for archiving process when the source is ProRes?

Looking at Compressor, and maybe Blu-ray H.264 or HD 1080p? What do you think?

H.264 is what your camera is originally recording, so that would be redundant, a waste of time and space to do that. Do you actually lack the space for ProRes files? Also, recording to the Ninja, you're getting slightly better image quality than the cameras highly compressed recorded files.

There's really not much other choice. Shoot, work, archive ProRes, and higher quality, more durable codec. Or shoot with the highly compressed H.264 camera files, Optimize, then archive with only the original camera files. That's about your only two choices.

Any possibility to choose a lower-quality ProRes codec? Like 422 instead of 422 HQ?
